Review Investment Options

Survey Findings: Trends and Experience in 401(k) Plans
Since 1988, Hewitt has conducted a survey of 401(k) plan sponsors which presents information and insights on key aspects of 401(k) plan design, investments, education, communication, and administration. Hewitt Investment Group utilizes this information to assist clients in reviewing their investment options and evaluating the effectiveness and competitiveness of their plans. Typical questions from the survey include:

  • How many investment choices should be offered to plan participants?
  • What types of options should be included in the investment program?
  • Should asset class options be complemented or replaced with lifestyle and/or window funds (including self-directed brokerage accounts)?
  • Should passively managed funds be provided instead of—or in addition to—actively managed portfolios?
